What do you do at Pangolin?
Oversee, create, execute, and analyze marketing strategies and content for all of Pangolin’s channels. I also provide a few laughs when I’m lucky.
What’s your favorite song(s) right now?
High For Hours — J. Cole
What did you do before working in crypto?
Oh boy. I studied Political Science and worked a lot of different jobs in my 20s. I worked for non-profits, at bike shops, in retail stores, then finally landed in the eCommerce world. From there, I got pretty good at Digital Marketing and focused on owned marketing channels and customer retention until I made the switch over to Web3.
What originally got you into crypto? What were some of your first investments?
I’m not a fan of big establishments. Once I started actually saving money, I realized I needed to invest it somewhere besides a bank. That led to learning about crypto, and I started DCA’ing into ETH and playing with some small cap projects on Coinbase.
What types of projects most excite you in the space (outside of Pangolin, of course)?
I’m split 50/50 between projects working towards crosschain interoperability and NFT projects utilizing on-chain metadata. For crosschain, I can still remember how confusing it was the first time I started playing around with DeFi and when I first bridged to Avalanche. There’s a lot of space to make that process so much smoother. For NFTs, I get excited about leveraging the strength of smart contracts and on-chain metadata for creative use cases. I think the combination of the two will allow communities to make fair decisions and keep people from screwing each other over in the long run, which is dope.
If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice the day you started investing in crypto, what would it be?
DCA, diversify, take profit, do more research on projects and smart investing strategies, and don’t get emotionally attached to a project. I know that’s more than one piece of advice but I was dumb and needed more than one.
What led to you working at Pangolin?
I got excited and interested in the Avalanche ecosystem last fall, and I was way more interested in it than my real-world job. I started digging into more discords and telegrams and eventually left my Web2 job to take a few months off for the first time in a decade. I started looking to see if I could translate my skills into Web3 marketing and was super fortunate to land at Pangolin.
Which part of our 2022 Roadmap are you most excited for? And why?
I’m excited about all of it, but gun to my head I’d have to go with SAR. I can’t say too much but it kind of loops back to that projects most excite me in the space question from above 🤐
